Police lay manslaughter charge as search continues for woman's body

The disappearance of 69-year-old Vida Smith has now been deemed a homicide, according to Calgary police, who say their top priority is now finding her remains. Staff Sgt. Martin Schiavetta made the announcement Friday, 10 days after Smith’s disappearance. They have since charged a 60-year-old man with manslaughter in connection to the death.
