@gabeangel81046 months ago Also, god chose to destroy literally everyone, just because there were some nephilim? No matter what you interpret nephilim as being that really feels its things like this that convinced me that the bible is just totally human people telling stories. Maybe some of them honestly believed they were telling about totally true spiritual truths, but they portrayed their god with all of the human traits that they had, acting in ways they think they would act if they were in his place. They say he is omnipresent and omnipotent and above our mortal understanding, but he doesnt act like it, because the people telling the stories couldnt imagine how that would manifest. The beyond our understanding bit only actually comes in when its needed to fill in the plot holes andthat non-believers raise.
im telling you, it broke my heart to realise all this because i had such a strong faith before but, as i learned more and more about the history of the church and the bible and everything, i realised that we cant take a single word of it all at face value because its all been changed and engineered so much to fit various different peoples narratives. If god himself could tell me what to believe and do i would do it, but i dont trust the people who are telling me that god said and did this and that because people are very fallible at best, and outright manipulative at worst, and how can you base your entire life on that. ...Expand 9
