For all you van lovers and van geeks out there, this video gives you details on how we restored and renovated our 1984 Volkswagon Vanagon Westfalia campervan. We found a great Vanagon Westfalia for sale on Craigslist. The outside was rough, but I knew I could work around that. The engine was a rebuilt 2.1 litre Waterboxer, Wasserboxer engine that seemed to run well. Watch this video for a quick slideshow of the work that progressed including a new Bosch distributor from Ken Wilford at VanAgain, coolant hoses from VanCafe, and multiple parts from GoWesty Including an Auxiliary battery charger kit. You will also see a handy center console I created for the VW Vanagon Westfalia to give us more storage, power ports, and battery voltmeter. To save time, money and delay the paint process for at least 5 years I wrapped the van in vinyl from Metro Restyling. A job that took about 5 days on and off to accomplish, but only cost about $600. To make our VW Vanagon Westfalia more rugged I created a front light bar from Amazon brackets I found and some pvc and copper tubing. I wanted an old school look so I put on four Hella 500's and one Rigid LED light for camping set up. We are now ready for van life and living the van life. Enjoy!
