As it's a Montessori toy, it's not interactive with the bells and whistles and requires more imagination. This may be more advance for children over the age of 2. However, my daughter loved to play with the candy apples, taking off the "candy" part as well as the push up expanding fluffy pretend cotton candy sticks. The Carnival Candy pretend play set is a great hands-on way to introduce colors, sorting, and problem-solving, and to encourage fine motor skills.
